Music City Networking @ HOME

My first networking event at HOME (Helping Our Music Evolve) 615 Main Street, Nashville, TN 37206 on 4/29/2026 was a great first step. I heard the Nashville music community was different. I believe it. From the minute I stepped through the door, I did feel at home. I felt like I was with my people. A long chain of many ongoing conversations ensued. It was great to meet and talk, get to know the many people that attended. It really exceeded my expectations and will stick in my memory for years to come.

From my first conversation with Malachi who showed me the two studios, to my conversations with Michael Sciascia, Ethan Issac, Emma Brocato, Kelly Foster, Kailin, and Porter Hall and many others who lent their humor, their story, their ambition, my road intertwined with theirs for a night. They all had different reasons for being there, mine was simple. I had been out of the music business for a long time. I have had multiple careers during that time; the corporate world with coding, SQL, and technology; property development projects. But my love for music never left me.

For this night, I was stepping back into a world I left once. It didn't matter if it went well or not. I'm here to stay. But it did go well. Maybe it was just another day for many of them, but for me, it was at the end of a great deal of sustained effort and transition just to be standing in the room. There were lot of decisions, a lot of commitment to the unknown, just to be there. But it was like seeing old friends, but I didn't know any of them. Yet, it was so familiar. I did feel like I was home. It meant a lot to me. I suppose years later, when I get to look back at the beginning of this journey, my heart will always remember this night as my first step. There were many greats moments and stories I'll take from that night.
